Battery Storage in Allen, TX

A home battery keeps your fridge, lights and Wi-Fi running when the power drops, and stores daytime solar for the evening. We look at your electrical panel and wiring first, so the system fits the house you actually have, older parts and past repairs included.

What a Home Battery Does for You

A battery sits on a garage wall or an outside wall and fills up from your solar panels during the day. When the sun goes down, your home draws from the battery instead of buying power back. When the grid fails, the system disconnects from it and keeps your chosen circuits on.

Batteries make the most sense if you already have solar or are adding it, if outages have cost you food or sleep, or if you work from home and need the internet to stay up. If you are still planning panels, our solar panel installation page explains how we design both together.

Most of the surprises with battery work hide in the electrical panel. Houses built a few decades ago often have smaller main panels, full breaker slots or a past owner's add-on wiring. We check all of that before we recommend a size, so you are not sold more battery than your home can use.

What Comes With Our Battery Installs

Electrical panel and wiring review
We remove your main panel cover, record its rating and age, and check for double-tapped breakers, aluminum branch wiring or earlier repairs. You receive photos and a clear explanation of anything that should be fixed first.
Sizing based on your loads
We talk through the circuits you care about, such as the fridge, a well pump, medical equipment or a home office. The size matches the way you live, not the largest model available.
A panel for backup circuits
Most setups add a separate backup panel that carries just your essential circuits. We shift those circuits over neatly and label each breaker so you know what stays powered.
Placement that avoids heat
Heat shortens a battery's life. We choose a shaded spot with airflow, keep code clearances, and steer clear of walls that roast in the afternoon sun during North Texas summers.
Permits and utility sign-off
We take care of the electrical permit and schedule the inspector. We also complete and send in your utility's interconnection forms, so you never have to deal with them.
App setup and walkthrough
Before leaving, we set your charging and backup preferences in the app and show you how to read it. Then we shut off the main breaker so you can watch the house switch to the battery.

Signs a Battery Is the Right Next Step

  • Outages keep catching you off guard

If storms or winter freezes have left you throwing out groceries or sleeping in a cold house, stored power covers the gap without a noisy generator.

  • Your solar sits idle in a blackout

Most grid-tied solar shuts off when the grid does, by design. A battery lets your panels keep working and recharging during an outage.

  • You send power back cheap and buy it back high

If your bill shows lots of daytime export and heavy evening use, a battery lets you keep that solar power for dinner time instead.

  • Someone at home depends on power

Oxygen concentrators, CPAP machines and refrigerated medicine cannot wait for the grid. A battery gives those circuits a dependable source.

  • Your panel is getting a refresh anyway

If an electrician has already flagged your older panel, it is a good time to plan battery space and a backup panel in the same project.

How a Battery Install Goes

  1. 1

    A conversation by phone

We start with a call about your goals, your power bills and any outages you have had. We will ask about the age of your home and whether the panel has ever been replaced.

  2. 2

    An on-site look

We visit to inspect the panel, meter, wiring paths and mounting spot. If something old needs fixing first, we tell you plainly and explain why.

  3. 3

    A written, line-item estimate

You get each part of the job listed separately: battery, backup panel, wiring, any panel corrections and permit fees. Nothing gets bundled into a mystery number.

  4. 4

    Install day

Most installs take one day with a few hours of power off. We lay down floor protection in the garage, keep the work tidy and haul away every scrap of packaging.

  5. 5

    Sign-off and first test

Once the inspector has approved the work and your utility has cleared the connection, we bring the battery online. Then we simulate an outage together so you can see your backup circuits carry on, and we stay to answer your questions.

What Moves the Price of Battery Storage

Battery pricing depends far more on your home than on the battery itself. Two neighbors on the same street can get very different quotes because of what sits behind the panel cover. We price after seeing it, and we explain every line.

Battery capacity
Backing up a fridge, lights and internet takes much less storage than running central air. More capacity, or a second unit, raises the cost.
Condition of your electrical panel
An older or undersized main panel may need corrections or an upgrade before a battery can connect safely. This is the biggest swing factor we see.
Existing solar or a new system
Adding a battery to existing panels may call for different equipment than installing both at once. We check your inverter to see what is compatible.
Wiring distance and mounting
A battery right next to the panel is simpler than one on the far side of the house. Longer runs, trenching or extra conduit add labor and material.

Common Questions About Home Batteries

Something not covered here? (972) 636-4883

Will a battery work with the solar I already have?

In most cases, yes. It comes down to your inverter and how the system was first wired. We review the equipment and let you know if the battery can connect directly or calls for a different setup.

How long will a battery keep my house running?

It depends on the battery's capacity and what is drawing from it. A fridge, lights and internet can often run overnight on stored power, and after sunrise your panels begin recharging it. We size the battery with you around what you most want to keep on.

Could my older home's panel get in the way?

It can, and it's best to learn that up front. Older panels may be out of space or have past repairs that need fixing. We inspect first, share photos and go over your choices before you agree to anything.

Is the garage a good place for the battery?

Frequently, and it's a popular location. We look at clearances, airflow and heat, because Texas garages run hot in summer. If an interior wall or a shaded spot outside works better, we'll suggest it.

Do batteries need upkeep?

Hardly any. The system watches itself, and the app shows its charge and health. If anything seems wrong down the road, our solar repair team can find the cause.
